Chi Man, controller at real estate developer Wilma Wonen, explains why they decided to enter into a partnership with HB Software at the end of 2021 and what HB Real Estate has meant to them so far.

This is how the collaboration started

In the past, Wilma Wonen worked with a well-known accounting program. This is what Chi says about it: 'Due to the increasing number of real estate projects, we discovered that the software at the time was mainly generically designed for administrative departments of all kinds of different organisations. However, this supplier lacked specific knowledge of the real estate sector. For example, there were no options in the system to carry out a full-fledged project administration, which was necessary given the growth of our organisation and the increase in the number of real estate projects. Through our contacts in the real estate world, we ended up at HB Software.’

A clear obligation administration

Chi explains that monitoring project budgets, payment terms and other contractual agreements used to involve a lot of time-consuming manual work. With possible errors as a result. ‘The contracts are now entered in HB Real Estate, which creates a liability in the project administration. These are written off when invoiced. This gives me, as a controller, extra certainty, because the invoices received from architects or subcontractors cannot deviate from what was agreed. The system warns me if this is the case. This also means that we score better in compliance audits. I would also like to emphasise that we appreciate the link with Exsion365, because many of our project managers work with Excel files and therefore we can integrate them excellently with HB Real Estate.’

Guidance in working accurately

HB Real Estate is fully aligned with the way Wilma Wonen wants to manage its real estate project administration. ‘This also means that users must fill in mandatory fields, such as their own parameters. It is precisely these mandatory fields that ensure the accuracy of project data. What I really appreciate is the guidance that our employees receive from HB Software to work flawlessly. For example, the transition to the Cloud was gradual and test environments were created prior to implementation. The go-live only took place after sessions with users had been conducted and it was certain that all desired procedures and actions were working properly. The technical support is excellent and personal and questions are almost always resolved immediately.'
